Mortenson is finishing up exterior construction of the new $224.6 million Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) Specialty Center. ESI worked with BWBR Architects during design of the building. On the structural side, ESI worked on mechanical equipment vibration isolation, as well as footfall vibration analysis for areas such as operating rooms, the MRI suite, a linear accelerator, and other related spaces. For noise and acoustics, we worked with the design team to evaluate room acoustics for the double high entry area, HVAC noise transmission to indoor and outdoor spaces, and sound isolation for the MRI suite, fitness rooms, audiology booths, and common team centers to patient exam rooms.
