ESI was fortunate to be a part of the design of the new $292 million University of Iowa Children’s Hospital designed by Foster and Partners. As the lead noise and vibration specialists, we provided recommendations for control of mechanical equipment noise transmission, room acoustics, and sound isolation.

To promote patient comfort and staff excellence, the project design goals included Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI) "Sound and Vibration Guidelines for Health Care Facilities."
Our structural engineers also performed a footfall vibration analysis and recommendations for a slab supported surgical suite level.
